The influence of aboveground and belowground species composition on spatial turnover in nutrient pools in alpine grasslands

چکیده

Aim An important research question in ecology is how climate and the biodiversity of aboveground plants belowground microbiomes affect ecosystem functions such as nutrient pools. However, little studied on concurrent role above- species composition shaping spatial distribution patterns across environmental gradients. Here, we investigated relationships between taxonomic plants, soil bacteria fungi turnover pools, assessed composition–nutrient pool were mediated by contemporary climatic conditions. Location Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Time period Current. Major taxa Plants, fungi. Methods We surveyed plant assemblages, sampled fungi, measured plant- soil-mediated pools at 60 alpine grasslands Using Mantel tests, structural equation models general linear models, relative importance plant, bacterial, fungal communities grassland Results found that was associated with local climate. effects mainly indirect through bacterial composition, but not composition. further replacement component β-diversity richness difference direct predictors grasslands. Main conclusions These results highlight together are related to perhaps even driving it. Conserving may therefore safeguard against impacts climate-sensitive

The spatial influence of aboveground diversity on belowground communities

Little is known about the effect of diversity surrounding a focal plant species on the belowground community under that species. At least two alternative hypotheses exist. First, studies involving a range of ecosystems and taxonomic groups have shown that changes in diversity in one group of species can promote diversity in other groups. Alternatively, many studies in soil ecology have shown th...

the influence of corpus luteum on follicular fluid composition from different size follicles and their relationship to serum concentrations in sanjabi ewes

the aim of the present study was to determine the in?uence of presence or absence of corpus luteum (cl) on hormonal and metabolites composition of follicular ?uid (ff) harvested from different sized follicles and its relationship with blood serum concentrations in sanjabi ewes. ovaries and blood samples were collected from 60 clinically healthy adult ewes (sanjabi breed) 1–3 years of age in dio...

critical period effects in foreign language learning:the influence of maturational state on the acquisition of reading, writing, and grammar in english as a foreign language

since the 1960s the age effects on learning both first and second language have been explored by many linguists and applied linguists (e.g lennerberg, 1967; schachter, 1996; long, 1990) and the existence of critical period for language acquisition was found to be a common ground of all these studies. in spite of some common findings, some issues about the impacts of age on acquiring a second or...
